Staying Social while social distancing

Ok, so you’re stuck in the house. Nearly all the time. Maybe you have kids, maybe you’re married maybe you’re not. Perhaps you live with your parents, perhaps you live alone. You may be successful in your business or maybe you are just starting out. Some businesses are booming, some are changing, some are struggling.

One thing that is for sure, however, whatever your situation may be at the moment, you will be spending a lot of time at home. This can have a huge impact on our mental health, you may already feel like you are climbing the walls or you may be feeling just fine right now.

For me personally, I’m having some days when everything is great and others when things aren’t. Some days I feel like screaming and others I’m so busy juggling running a business alongside home-schooling my 7 year old and doing all the usual household things.

But that is ok.

Everyone is different but right now one thing is more crucial than ever. Working together.

We should all be working together to get through this. Throughout the nation you see people coming together from all walks of life. Local people volunteering to help vulnerable people in their community, people applauding the NHS, people working together to help support local businesses and so much more.

I am very lucky to be part of an amazing group of businesswomen, Her Business Revolution. It’s a group of women from all sorts of industries, backgrounds and communities working together where collaboration rather than competition is at the heart of what we do.

We support each other in so many ways. This includes giving people a sounding board for new ideas, entertainment, goal setting, advice, friendship and so much more. For those of us within the Superwomen Membership Club, we also have access to online networking in place of the usual meetups due to lockdown, plus a whole host of training and business mentoring through the club. Next week we are embarking on a new training and coaching program HER Business Elite Academy which is very exciting.

I fell on my feet when I discovered the club, and I say that wholeheartedly. There are very few places, online and otherwise, where a group of people who are kind and supportive come together to encourage, assist and promote other members businesses.

If you are in need of a safe space right now where you can vent, have a real adult conversation plus get to know an amazing bunch of like-minded businesswomen, not to mention all of the other training and support offered to members check out or find the group on social media. There is also a free Facebook group where you can get to know us all before taking the plunge

I hope by me putting this out there the club can help others as much as it has helped me.

And for now, keep social whilst social distancing, keep buying local, choosing independent and remember its the little things which make the difference.
